The Easter egg is said to represent the rebirth of spring and the rise of new life. But,life seldom comes from an Easter Egg these days. Of course this is by design. No one wants to crack open an egg to find a boiled baby chic inside. And, I suspect most modern kids prefer the sweet treats placed inside the plastic eggs. But, I think it safe to say the real joy comes when children search for and find an abundance of that little symbol of new life.
